After marrying the love of her life and moving to the Northeast, Janie launched her own graphic arts consulting company in 1984, specializing in color and print production for high profile New York City businesses including Citibank, Hearst Publications and Hanover House.


For the past 15 years, studying oil painting under the tutelage of internationally renowned artist Janine Wesselmann in her Connecticut studios, Janie has become known for her bold designs and exuberant use of colors.  A member of the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, her resume includes curating artist exhibitions and philanthropic donations of her paintings to benefit the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Association, and the Avon Foundation for Women.


Her work can be found in a number of private collections and the Robert F. Kennedy Department of Justice Building in Washington, DC; previous showings include the Nuance Gallery in Windsor, Vermont and the Shuldman Gallery in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Janie Ellis Stewart, a former advertising executive and small business owner, creates enchanting and vibrant paintings inspired by her career in graphic arts.


A native of Dallas, Texas, Janie received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas and began her career at Bloom Advertising Agency.  Janie went on to become Vice President of Jo-Von Tucker and Associates, a boutique direct mail catalog company.
